
Kenneth Scarborough and his family are short term missionaries in San Jose, Costa. After studying Spanish for one year, Kenneth began serving at El Lugar Church in the areas of: leadership development, operations and global outreach. He remains connected to his passionate work in the US as a Consultant to the National Healthy Start Association Male Involvement Where Dads Matter Initiative (DMI). He is available to 101 federal Healthy Start Projects providing technical assistance, support and direction for advancing best practices and training for fatherhood and male involvement work.
Previously, he served as the Chief Program Officer and Director of Ready4Work at Operation New Hope, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. He was responsible for delivering a full range of wrap-around life course services for men and women returning to the community from prison and/or jail. He directed a staff of 31 with 8 key managers serving over 1500 persons annually. While in Jacksonville, he also served as Chair of the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition.
Prior to becoming Chief Program at ONH, he served as the Project Manager and Male Involvement Coordinator for REACHUP, Incorporated in Tampa, Florida. He was responsible for the administrative oversight of federal Healthy Start Grant and a number of projects and programs related to fathers and men.
For over thirty-five years, he has worked with African American and Hispanic boys and men in mentoring relationships, which he believes is essential for growing lives and building healthy communities. He consults on operational efficiency, strategic planning, management and logistics. He teaches, trains, presents and mentors others to be the best they can be in various aspect of life, work and family.
